Coyote Alert Issued in Southbury

On October 25, 2014 a Bichon was let out by its Southbury owner at 2:30 a.m. The dog was attacked and carried off by a coyote. The owner gave chase and the coyote dropped her dog. It was taken to the emergency Vet where it’s injuries were relatively minor.

If your dog needs to go out after dark please always use a leash, and owners should keep an eye on their pets especially small dogs and cats during the day as well as coyotes are not a nocturnal animal.
