Developer Pulls Controversial Apartment Complex Proposal in Southbury: Report

The developer does plan to submit revised plans in April, according to a report.

SOUTHBURY, CT — A local developer said he's heard neighbors concerns and he's pulled his plans for a two-story apartment complex at 390 Roxbury Road, the Republican-American reports.

The developer, Kevin Bennett, however does plan to submit revised plans in the future. Residents raised concerns over increased traffic congestion and a concern the project would negatively impact property values.

Bennett's original proposal was for a nearly 15,000-square-foot apartment building on 2 acres of land. Apartment buildings are not allowed under the town's zoning regulation. He had sought construction of 14 units in total, the Rep-Am reports.
