Developer Seeks Federal Funds To Build 180-Unit Complex: Report

Town officials want more information before agreeing to have the state convey land to the town.

SOUTHBURY, CT — There is a four-year waiting list for folks who want to live at Grace Meadows in Southbury and Developer Pierce Hollow Village is seeking federal housing funds to build 180 units of affordable elderly housing on 45-acres of land at the Southbury Training School site, according to the Republican-American.

Town officials are taking a wait-and-see attitude with regard to having the 45-acre parcel conveyed from the state to the town, officials told the Rep-Am. Southbury officials want to ensure that the developer receives approval from the federal government before agreeing to take control of the land, which also has environmental issues.
