Dog Day Cares Debated In Southbury: Report

A draft proposal is in the works, according to town officials.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Currently the town's zoning regulations do not allow for doggie day cares, which is why two recent requests for such businesses were denied, but that could be changing, the Republican-American reports.

The zoning commission has formed a subcommittee to examine allowing dog day cares in commercial and industrial zones that aren't adjacent to any residential areas, the Rep-Am reports.

According to the draft regulation, no more than 30 dogs would be allowed at once. Overnight boarding could be allowed, according to the Rep-Am. No final decision has been made.
