Ellington Hires Away Southbury Finance Officer

ELLINGTON, CT — The Elllington Board of Selectmen has appointed Daniel Colton as the town's new finance officer and treasurer.

Colton's hiring was made official at the May 15 board meeting and is effective on June 10.

Colton has three decades of experience in accounting and financial services. He comes to Ellington from Southbury, where he worked as the municipal finance director.

Prior to his municipal experience, he served in numerous roles in the private sector.

Colton holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting from Post University.

First Selectman Lori Spielman said, "The Town of Ellington is very fortunate to have Mr. Colton’s exceptional ability and knowledge adding to our experienced Finance Office team."
