Heroin and Marijuana Arrests Outside Rochambeau Middle School

Over the weekend, two separate cases of drug possession occurred on Peter Road.

Two people were arrested for drug possession near Rochambeau Middle School over the weekend in separate incidents, for heroin and marijuana respectively.

William Hauck, 29, of 361 Peter Rd was arrested on Peter Road early Sunday morning after his car was pulled over for a moving violation.

According to the police report, in the course of the stop, Hauck handed the officer over a pipe coated with a brown substance.  A further search revealed Heroin, drug paraphernalia and an unidentified prescription pill not in its original container.

Hauck was charged with possession of heroin, keeping a narcotic outside its original container and possession of a drug within 1500 feet of a school.

Early Saturday morning, Omar Munroe Pratt, 30, of 20 Lawrence street, Waterbury, was arrested on Peter Road, across the street from the middle school after an officer observed him driving erratically on Main Street and take a sharp turn off that street.

According to police reports, the officer smelled burnt marijuana and saw a "green plantlike substance" on the floor of the car along with brown cigar wrappings.  A search of the car came up with marijuana, and a check on his license showed that it has been suspended since 2002.

Pratt was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana within 1500 feet of a school, driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.
