Hiring New Economic Developer Director In Southbury Pitched
The Economic Development Commission is requesting funds in its budget next year for the position.

SOUTHBURY, CT — The Economic Development Commission wants the town to hire a new economic development director, which would cost $55,000, the Republican-American reports. The new position could help work to attract new businesses to town and exploring grant possibilities.
First Selectman Jeffrey Manville told the Rep-Am that the town's grand list is strong currently. EDC members had a lengthy discussion on the topic and one member said a director could help in filling some vacant properties in town too.
