I-84 Southbury Road Improvement Funding Yanked Due to Budget Mess

Governor Malloy says state legislature needs to find funding or hundreds of road projects across state won't get done.

SOUTHBURY, CT - Scheduled road renovation projects to be funded with state money in Southbury have been suspended. Governor Dannel P. Malloy made that announcement stating the state legislature needs to appropriate funds for the Special Transportation Fund to get the projects done.

"If Connecticut does not take the necessary action to allow to restart these vital projects, not only will it put the state's infrastructure into a further state of disrepair, it will hurt our economy," Malloy said. "The legislature must act this year to avoid potentially devastating setbacks to our transportation system."
