I-84 Southbury Road Improvement Funding Yanked Due to Budget Mess

SOUTHBURY, CT - Scheduled road renovation projects to be funded with state money in Southbury have been suspended. Governor Dannel P. Malloy made that announcement stating the state legislature needs to appropriate funds for the Special Transportation Fund to get the projects done.

"If Connecticut does not take the necessary action to allow to restart these vital projects, not only will it put the state's infrastructure into a further state of disrepair, it will hurt our economy," Malloy said. "The legislature must act this year to avoid potentially devastating setbacks to our transportation system."

The Southbury project in jeopardy is:

-- I-84 improvements at Exit 14 ($3.5 million).

In addition various road projects in Southbury that have statewide roads and/or land have also been suspended.
