Eversource Update
If a tree is on the service wire, call Eversource to assure the power is off and that it is safe to remove the tree and restore power to your house. The following information should be noted:

The wire from the pole to the house is Eversource’s responsibility. The service from the house to the meter is the homeowner’s responsibility. Eversource is responsible for the meter only. The service from the meter into the house is the homeowner’s responsibility.

Twenty-seven crews are actively working. Additional crews are being added throughout the day. Eversource reminds everyone that we are now at a point that ALL wires should be considered live. If you are using an improperly installed generator, using it will slow down the recovery. Please refer to our website for proper generator use. The detection of such a generator will cause the crew to move from your location to another location. Again, safety is the first priority. All wires should be considered live.
