The Knights of Columbus Annual Fundraiser
The KOC Council 5066 raise money to help rebuild a home in Waterbury.

On Sunday, January 28, 2018, the Knights of Columbus Council 5066 hosted their annual pancake breakfast fundraiser. 12 volunteers served 200 Sacred Heart Parishioners, which generated a total of $1,390 for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury. The money raised will help with renovations to a home located on Kramer Avenue in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Keith Weston, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury, explained that the home on Kramer Avenue will be stripped down to the frame and completely rebuilt. The entire renovation cost will amount to over $73,000.
Families that are selected for these homes are referred to as partners. Each partner is selected by strict criteria and must complete 250 sweet equity hours as a down payment. In addition, 50 hours of home ownership and finance management classes are required to ensure that the families have the resources to maintain the home. Mortgage payments for the home are used to help with future renovation projects.
