A local teenager is asking the community for help. Quinn McLaughlin, a Southbury teenager, has qualified for the World’s competition of the Ultimate Ninja Athletic Association being held later this month in Minnesota. He qualified at the Regional competition in Danbury this past June.
Quinn's drive, dedication and determination have paid off quickly. He only started competing as a Ninja in September 2018. This past February, he was ranked 18th in the world in his age group, according to the National Ninja League, and he is now ready to compete in the adult league. Quinn needs help from the community in order to pay for the required travel and living arrangements.
In addition, Quinn has spent time mentoring younger Ninja athletes. A girl he mentors qualified for the American Ninja Junior competition that will take place in California in July. This competition will be televised, and Quinn would love to be able to travel with her to mentor and cheer her on from the sidelines.
