Major Sewage Spill Reported In Southbury

Town officials say the water company is looking into the situation and any potential environmental impact or if any remediation is needed.

The Town of Southbury has been notified by Heritage Village Water Company that a sewage spill of approximately 18,000 gallons occurred on the night of October 17, 2018 and discovered in the morning of October 18th.

It occurred on the Heritage Village Golf Course. It did enter an unnamed stream. DEEP has also been notified along with Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition. Heritage Village Water Company is looking into the situation and any potential environmental impact or any remediation that may be required.
