Man Dies In 'Freak' Street Sweeper Accident In Southbury: Report

SOUTHBURY, CT — The operator of a street sweeper truck was killed in what police said appeared to be a freak accident early Friday morning in Southbury, according to the Republican-American.

The Republican-American reports the 47-year-old man was found lying on the ground around 5:30 a.m. after the street sweeper had struck the front section of the Southbury Green shopping center at 775 Main St. South.

The man, whose identity hasn’t been released, could have been unconscious for an extended time before he was found, according to the Republican-American.
