New Movie Theater Project Attracts Its First Complaint In Southbury: Report

An updated timeline for completion of the project has also been released.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Despite still being under construction, an aesthetics complaint has been filed over the new 42,500-square-foot movies theater on 690 Main St., the Republican-American reports.

Michael Piccirillo, of Robinson Lane, filed a complaint over the “large and unsightly metal air conditioning units” on the roof of the building, but zoning officials say the project is in compliance for now because work hasn't been completed yet.

An architect on the project said the AC units will be screened in once construction is finished. The project includes an eight-screen movie theater, restaurant, retail space, and a playhouse for live theater, the Rep-Am reports. Work may be completed by the end of October.
