
Doris Wildman Charney passed away at River Glen Health Center on March 4 and now joins her husband Andrew of 69 years in heaven.
Doris was born in Bridgeport on Nov. 15, 1920 to the late Frank and Florence (Abbott) Wildman. She graduated from Northeastern College in Boston, MA and became a physical education teacher.
After her children were born, she enjoyed being at home to raise them, doing the accounting work for Andy’s business and giving 65 years of her green thumb to her flowers and garden at their home on the water in Shady Rest in Sandy Hook, CT.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Ray Bresson of Southbury, where they made their home for the last 3 years, and son, David Charney of Monroe. She was a loving grandmother to two granddaughters and their husbands, Beth-ann and Bob Hamila of Oxford, and Cindy and Karl Walton of Southbury and great-grandmother to Bobby and his wife, Lea Hamila of Southbury.
She also leaves her in-laws, Charles Ahearn, Laura, Betty and Lou Wildman, Irene Lane, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Jean Harold. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Carl, George and Charles Wildman and her sister, Charlotte Ahearn.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury. The family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. until time of the service.
