Obituary: ​Jewett Langdon MacLise, 86, of Southbury

After attending the University of Missouri, Jewett relocated to Connecticut where she attended Yale Drama School.

Jewett Langdon MacLise, age 86, of Southbury and Guilford CT passed away peacefully and surrounded by love on June 29, 2016, due to congestive heart failure.

She was born on March 26, 1930 in Hornersville MO to Albert Jewett and May (Smyth) Langdon, Jr. After attending the University of Missouri, Jewett relocated to Connecticut where she attended Yale Drama School, settled, and raised a family on beautiful Leetes Island in Guilford CT.

Jewett had a lifelong passion for the theatre, music, quilting, mysteries, photography, all things purple, and anything her grandchildren were doing at the time.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and sisters, Laverne Langdon Davidson and Mary Lou Langdon Barrett. She is survived by her daughters Leslie Jewett MacLise-Kane of Southbury CT and Abbe Langdon MacLise of Chicago IL, and by her grandchildren Rowan Langdon MacLise Kane and Clare Ennis MacLise Kane. Additionally, she is survived by her nieces Mary Davidson Dunnell and Leslie Davidson Bruning, and her nephew Donald Langdon (Jane Ellen) Barrett.

At the deceased’s request she is returning home, where a small memorial service will be held in Kennett MO later this summer.
