Obituary: ​Pasquale “Pat” Casale, 84, of Southbury

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Pasquale “Pat” Casale, 84, of Southbury, died Saturday, July 16th at his home. He was the husband of Daisy Casale. Mr. Casale was born December 21, 1931, in Bronx, NY, son of the late Salvatore and Lucrezia (DiGuglielmo) Casale.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. “Rainbow” as he was known, was an outstanding baseball player as well as Golden Gloves boxer. In his retirement, he developed a love for bocce and tennis and played on several teams while at his winter home in Estero, Florida. Besides his devoted wife of 59 years, he leaves his loving children: Corinne ( Chris), Linda (Kris) and Patrick.

He also leaves his grandchildren who he was very proud of: Jessica, Emma, Anders, Christopher, Eric, Kristian, Tyler and Julian. He also leaves his brothers Angelo “Charlie” Casale, Canio Casale and a sister, Judith Rovere.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury.

Burial will follow in Southford Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours: Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Smilow Cancer Hospital, Yale-New Haven Hospital.
