Obituary: Rose Coshak, 99, of Southbury

Coshak was a Past-President of the Beth El Sisterhood, and a member of Hadassah, Waterbury Ladies Aid, and the St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary

Rose Coshak, 99, passed away early Thursday morning March 17, 2016 at her residence. She was predeceased by her husband Dr.Morris Coshak whom predeceased her in 1993 after 52 years of marriage.

Mrs. Coshak was born August 8, 1916 in Waterbury daughter of the late Abraham and his wife Sarah (Goldman) Matzkin.

Rose was a graduate of Simmons College where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree. She was a Social Worker for the State of Connecticut prior to her retirement. Mrs. Coshak was a Past-President of the Beth El Sisterhood, and a member of Hadassah, Waterbury Ladies Aid, and the St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son Howard and his wife Rachael Coshak of Sarasota, FL; two daughters Judith Coshak and her longtime companion Mo of Jersey City, NJ, and Karen and her husband Donald Andrews Coshak of Kew Gardens, NY; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Rose was predeceased by her three brothers Atty. Lawrence Matzkin, Emanuel Matzkin, and Zelig Sidney Matzkin.

Arrangements- A Graveside Service for Mrs. Coshak will be held "today" 12 P.M, Friday March 18, 2016 at Beth-El Cemetery, Boyden Street, Waterbury, 06704. Burial will follow after the service. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710, is assisting with the arrangements.
