SOUTHBURY, CT — One person is dead following a car vs. dump truck crash on Friday afternoon, according to Connecticut State Police.The Southbury Police Department responded to the crash on Main Street North at about 1 p.m.State Police Spokesman Trooper First Class Kelly Grant confirmed that one of the operators was killed in the crash while the other driver was hospitalized for evaluation.No further information was provided.This story will be updated when more information is available.

UCC Southbury invites the community to join them for the 50th Annual Southbury Strawberry Festival on the spacious Church Green, located at 283 Main Street North, in Southbury, CT, to be held on Saturday, June 6th, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (rain or shine).
There will be fresh strawberry shortcakes with homemade whipped cream, live music by Band o’ Brothers, Nick Depuy and Adelaide Punkin, assorted baked goods, grilled foods and Food Trucks including Cousins Maine Lobster and Red Apple Catering with Ben &amp; Jerry’s Ice Cream on hand. Also featuring raffle prizes, Kids Zone bouncy house, games and activities, and 40 different vendors and artisans for interested shoppers.
