Police Blotter June 23-30

There were two arrests this week, for DWI and DUI respectively.

Sunday, June 27:

A 31-year-old Waterbury man was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Traveling Unreasonably Fast on Lakeside Rd.

A Waterbury resident's vehicle was northbound on Lakeside Rd when it skidded and rear-ended a second vehicle, which had stopped for a previous 1-car collision.  While no injuries were sustained by either driver, the driver of the first carappeared intoxicated to officers on the scene.  He was arrested and submitted to testing which revealed an alcohol level over the legal limit.

He was released on a $1000 non-surety bond and is due in Waterbury Superior Court in July 7.

A 21-year-old Woodbury man was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Travelling Unreasonably Fast and Failure To Drive Right on Main Street South.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling erratically on Main St. South and moving at 60 mph in a 30 mph zone, weaving in his lane and crossing the center line.  A motor vehicle stop was conducted and the driver was was arrested.
