Police Blotter: An Egging, 133 Discarded Tools and Three Larcenies

It was a week of unusual crimes as a car was egged and 133 tools were found scattered along Main Street south. More seriously, a safe and cashbox were taken from 'The Lodge' in this Aug. 4 edition of the Police Blotter.

Woman's Car Egged

While parked at her workplace, one or more persons threw eggs at a Southbury woman's car on Main Street South around 1 p.m.  The incident is under investigation.

iPhone and GPS Stolen From Car

Police are investigatin the larceny of an Apple iPhone and Nextar GPS unit from a motor vehicle between Tuesday July 27 and Wednesday July 28.   The theft may have occurred at Southbury Plaza, or while the car was parked in the victim's driveway on Georges Hill Road.

Rear View Mirrors Stolen from 83-year-old Man

Police are investigating the larceny of rear view mirrors of an 83-year-old resident's green Oldsmobile Cutlass Sedan.  The mirrors were taken between 3 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. while the car was parked in front of the Stop and Shop in Southbury Plaza.

Brookfield Woman Arrested for DUI and Failure to Drive Right

An officer observed a vehicle travelling eastbound on Main Street South run a red light while turning onto Main Street North, where it straddled the center line before making a sudden right turn onto I-84 and nearly striking the curb.   The vehicle travelled westbound on the exit 15 on-ramp while still straddling the center line when the officer conducted a motor vehicle stop leading ot the arrest of the driver a 31-year-old Brookfield woman for driving under the influence and failure to drive right.

133 Tools Found Scattered on Main St. South

133 miscellaneous tools were found scattered in the roadway on Main St. South near the intersection of Bullet Hill Rd.  Any information regarding this incident please contact Officer Armeno of the Southbury Police Department at 203 264 5812.

New Yorker Arrested for Breach of Peace

Two officers were dispatched to the Mobil Gas Station at 997 Main Street South for reports of an out of control man yelling profanities and scaring customers.  At the scene, officers observed a man screaming and walking back and forth in the parking lot making hand gestures.  The man, a 34-year-old from Bronx, was arrested for Breach of Peace and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.

Undisclosed Amount of Money Taken from 'The Lodge' restaurant.

Police are investigating the larceny of a safe and cashbox both containing an undisclosed amount of money from The Lodge Bar and Grill on Southford Road.  The theft occurred between 9:15 p.m. Sunday night Aug. 1 and 10:30 a.m. on Monday Aug. 2.
