Domestic Violence Complaint Leads to Assault Charge

Police responded to a domestic violence complaint at 1174 and arrested Gail Golden-Bell, 46, for assault in the third degree after attacking her daughter Jaime Golden, 19, during an argument.  Golden sustained minor injuries.

Car Veers Off Road, Accidentally Jumps 18 ft Ditch; Driver Wounded

A car crashed near the Southbury Training School on South Britain Road after veering off the right side of the road onto school property and over an 18-foot-wide catch basin.  After landing on the other side of the basin, the vehicle — a 1999 Honda Civic — struck the south side of the culvert and continued traveling on the property until it slowed to a halt.

The driver, Timothy Rose, 22, was taken to Waterbury Hospital for an ankle injury and lacerations across his arms, legs and face.  The car was totaled with heavy front end and left side damage.

Rose was not wearing a seatbelt.

Police are asking any witnesses of the crash to contact Officer Renaldi at 203 264 5912.

iPhone Stolen from Vehicle

A black iPhone 4 and $40 in cash were taken from a vehicle on South Main St between Sept. 10 at 10:30 a.m. and Sept. 11 at 8 a.m.  Anyone with information about the theft can contact Officer Renaldi at 203 264 5912.

DUI on Strongtown Road

Deborah Grasso, 50, or 40 Hull St, Shelton was arrested for driving under the influence and failure to drive right after an officer observed her weaving in her lane and crossing the center line several times on Strongtown Rd after stopping at a green light.

Criminal Impersonation Following Moving Violation

Shantell Brooks, 23, of 170 Shelton Ave, New Haven was arrested for criminal impersonation after being pulled over for a moving violation on the I-85 exit 16 on-ramp.  When questioned by officers, Brooks claimed that her purse and driver's license had been stolen and identified herself as Tanya Brooks — a 38-year-old New Haven resident.

The officer saw the DMV's physical description for Tanya did not match Shantell's and after speaking with the car's passenger — Marketa Smith, 21 — the driver was identified as Shantell Brooks and arrested for criminal impersonation, operating under suspension, operating a motor vehicle without a license and unsafe movement.

Fourteen Mailboxes Destroyed Around Royal Coach Lane

Fourteen mailboxes on Royal Coach Lane and Lakeside Road were destroyed Monday morning, according to police reports.

Around midnight, police were called to the area and discovered ten damaged mailboxes on Royal coach Lane and four on a nearby section of Lakeside Road.

Police say they have suspects in the case and expect to make arrests soon.

Lakeside Road last saw vandalism three weeks ago, when someone broke windows on two properties.

Minor Arrested for DWI

Colin Goyetter, 19, of 281 Heritage Village was arrested on Icabod road for driving while intoxicated, failure to drive right and failure to carry a license after an officer observed him driving erratically.
