Jewelry Taken from Lumm Lot Road Residence

Jewelery was taken from a Lumm Lot road some time between the end of June and Friday, Aug. 27 at 8 a.m.

Police are investigating the missing items and ask anyone with information to call at 203-264-5912.

Man Arrested for DWI after Asking Police For Directions

An officer was flagged down by a motorist trying to leave the Mobil gas station on Strongtown Road.  The driver, Christopher White, 27 of 10 Ash Street, Enfield was attempting to exit left from the right turn only lane and told the officer that he was lost and looking for I-84.

White said he was trying to get home to Enfield and was traveling from a friend's house in West Hartford.  He appeared intoxicated and subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.

DWI on I-84

After receiving complaints of a car driving erratically on I-84, an officer tracked down the weaving vehicle and stopped it.  The driver, Natalie Echevarria, 21 of 686 Brewer Street East Hartford was arrested for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive in the proper lane.  She was released on a $750 non-surety bond.

DWI and Failure to Obey a Red Light

An officer observed a car go through a red light on Old Waterbury Road at the 188 intersection around 1 a.m.  He stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, Robert Rende, 25 of 3 Upper Court, Woodbury for driving while intoxicated and failure to obey a red light.  Rende was released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Man Drinks While Driving and Speeds on Main Street

An officer followed a speeding car off of Main Street South onto Poverty Road where he stopped the car and subsequently arrested the driver, Shane Smith, 33 of 832 Old Waterbury Road, Southbury for driving under the influence, drinking while operating a motor vehicle and traveling unreasonably fast.

Man Turns Himself in for Failure to Appear Warrant

At 6:30 a.m., Lars Marting, 27 of 71 Lighthouse Road, Woodbury surrendered himself to the Southbury Police on an active Paperless Re-Arrest Warrant Network — or, PRAWN — warrant for failure to appear.

Graffiti in Community Park

A large amount of graffiti was discovered inside the men's bathroom at Community Park.  Anyone with information about the graffiti is asked to call the police at 203-264-5912.

Underage, Intoxicated Driver Crashes into Telephone Pole

Alex Gerner, 20 of 400 Ichabod Road, Southbury was driving north on Transylvania Road when he drove into the southbound lane, then onto private property at 83 Transylvania Road and crashing into a telephone pole.

While there were no reported injuries, the driver — who is underage — was arrested for driving under the influence and traveling unreasonable fast.

There was moderate damage to the utility pole.
