Police Make Final Arrest In Southbury Training School Arson Case
Police have arrested a third person accused of involvement in a Southbury Training School arson.
SOUTHBURY, CT — A third person has been arrested in the Southbury Training School arson case, according to state police. Julia Ninno, 18, of New Milford, was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, conspiracy to commit third-degree arson, and criminal liability acts of another/third-degree arson.
The arrest stems from a Dec. 17 incident when the Southbury Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in the area of 24 Village Road.
Firefighters arrived at 10:26 p.m. to find a cottage and surrounding brush in flames. The structure sustained "catastrophic damage," and its roof and walls had collapsed.

The Southbury Training School property has sections "that are abandoned/condemned," according to an arrest warrant. Police said a gate on the south side of the campus was unsecured as it had been recently damaged by vandals. Squatters and trespassers frequent the property, according to police.
Police previously arrested Gregory Gulick, 21, of Southbury, in the case. Gulick was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, third-degree arson, and first-degree criminal conspiracy to commit/criminal mischief. He was held on $250,000 bond

Police also arrested Juliana Sullivan, 18, of New Milford, on the same charges that Ninno is facing.
Ninno posted $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 17.
Police said this is the final arrest expected in the case and that the case is now closed.
