Shepaug Valley School to Host Northwest Connecticut’s First CAG “Minds in Motion” Event
An afternoon of fun, creative, enriching activities for kids, parents and educators too!
Washington, CT - On Saturday, February 27, Shepaug Valley School will host Minds in Motion™ Shepaug. Co-presented by Region 12 and Connecticut Association for the Gifted (CAG) this event is a fun-filled learning adventure for children from Kindergarten through Grade 8, their parents and educators. Children can choose from over 15 different workshops including ‘Introducing the Rigamajig,’ by KidsPlay Museum of Torrington, ‘Program Your Own Robot’, by Operation P.E.A.C.C.E Robotics of Bristol, ‘Capoiera, A Jovial Brazilian Martial Art’, by Thrive Movement Studio of Harwinton, ‘The Wacky World of Waffles’, by The Silo at Hunt Hill Farm and much more. At no additional cost, adult workshops are offered that provide strategies to enhance learning, promote creativity and resilience, and help raise asset-strong youth. The keynote address for adults features Michael Moschen, a MacArthur Genius Award recipient and world-renowned visionary performing artist brought to Minds in Motion Shepaug by ASAP, After School Arts Program. Moschen will lead an inspiring discussion about how to help children be the creative artists of their own learning. Minds in Motion events are sponsored statewide by GoQuest, the online inquiry and project-based learning system.
