Sacred Heart Mustard Seed Fund Awards Grants
The Sacred Heart Church Mustard Seed Fund Awards $48,000 to 43 Organizations.
Southbury, Connecticut - On Sunday, June 3, 2018, Sacred Heart’s Mustard Seed Fund awarded $48,000 in grants to 43 non-profit organizations and charities. The Mustard Seed Fund was established in 2004 by Sacred Heart Church upon receiving a bequest from sisters, Mrs. Irma Ziegler Smith and Miss Mildred Ziegler. Through this fund, the parish offers annual grants to organizations that provide services for people in need. Some of the 2018 local recipients include Arts Escape, Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury, Inc., Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury, The Southbury Women’s Club, Southbury Interfaith Thanksgiving Meal, and Southbury Training School Home & School Association. The benefiting programs offer services for people of all ages, including; summer camp financial assistance, providing necessities for families in need, supporting programs for disabled individuals, and more.
Sacred Heart Church offers the Mustard Seed Fund Grant annually. Local and global non-profit organizations must be nominated by a Sacred Heart Parishioner.
