Second Person Arrested In Southbury Training School Arson Case: Police
A second person has been charged in the Southbury Training School arson case, according to state police.
SOUTHBURY, CT — A second person has been arrested in the Southbury Training School arson case, according to state police. Juliana Sullivan, 18, of New Milford, was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, conspiracy to commit third-degree arson, and criminal liability acts of another/third-degree arson.
The arrest stems from a Dec. 17 incident when the Southbury Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in the area of 24 Village Road.
Firefighters arrived at 10:26 p.m. to find a cottage and surrounding brush in flames. The structure sustained "catastrophic damage," and its roof and walls had collapsed.

The Southbury Training School property has sections "that are abandoned/condemned," according to an arrest warrant. Police said a gate on the south side of the campus was unsecured as it had been recently damaged by vandals. Squatters and trespassers frequent the property, according to police.
Police previously arrested Gregory Gulick, 21, of Southbury, in the case. Gulick was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, third-degree arson, and first-degree criminal conspiracy to commit/criminal mischief. He was held on $250,000 bond

Sullivan posted $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 18.
Police said the case remains under investigation and that more arrests are expected.
