A local restaurant was included among Business Insider's recent list of the "most iconic diner in every state."
SOUTHBURY, CT — A Southbury restaurant was included among Business Insider's recent list of iconic diners in each state.
According to the list, The Most Iconic Diner In Every State, chrome stools and menus filled with classic comfort foods have made diners quintessentially American.
"From decades-old landmarks...to no-frills lunch counters that have quietly become cultural icons in their respective towns, these are the most iconic diners in every state," according to Business Insider.

For Connecticut, the list names the Laurel Diner in Southbury as the state's most iconic eatery.
Business Insider notes the Laurel Diner "delivers typical roadside diner fare in a classic setting" and highlighted the restaurant's expansive menu, which includes items such as corned beef hash and breakfast plates.

According to the restaurant's website, the Laurel Diner specializes in home-made corned beef hash and home fries, both of which are made fresh daily.
"We hope you love our food as much as we do," a description on the website reads, "so please stop on by...we promise you won't regret it!"
The diner's Facebook page notes the restaurant has been family owned and operated by Peter and Stephanie Homick since 1997.
The website notes the diner was established in 1949.
The popular eatery serves breakfast and lunch all day from a menu that also includes omelettes, pancakes, waffles, burgers, sandwiches and unique specials among other items.
Located at 544 Main Street S in Southbury, the restaurant is cash only.
Hours for the Laurel Diner are Tuesday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the website.
