South Britain Congregational Church Launches Launches "Help Stop Bullying" Campaign

On Sunday April 2, 2017, the Faith Formation Department of the South Britain Congregational Church launched a "Help Stop Bullying" Campaign. The Sunday School children completed a short educational unit on "bullying" prior to launching the campaign. The unit included information about people who bully, people who are bullied and people who watch bullying. It offered tips on how to handle each kind of bullying and stressed involving a trusted adult in any resolution of a bullying situation.
The children signed pledges to help stop bullying. They took the pledges home to discuss with their parents and ask their parents to co-sign the pledges. They presented the campaign to the SBCC congregation on Sunday morning and explained that it was a campaign that touched adults as well as children.
During the coffee hour that followed the service, the children collected over fifty signed pledges from parishioners. They have designed a "Help Stop Bullying" bulletin board where all of the pledges are displayed.
