Southbury 2019 Local Elections: Candidates, Polling Places, Hours
Here's what you need to know concerning the 2019 Southbury local elections including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 5 to vote in Southbury’s municipal election. The position of first selectman, selectmen, Board of Education and other positions are up for grabs.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.
Southbury First Selectman Jeff Manville is seeking another term while Democratic challenger Richard Boritz is hoping to break Manville’s streak.

For Board of Selectmen, the candidates are: Democrats Justin Bette, Catherine DeCarli and Mike Rosen versus Republicans Emily Harrison, George Bertram and Jason Buchsbaum.

For Board of Finance the candidates are Democrats Thomas Connor and Joan Gillespie and Republican John Michaels.
For Planning and Zoning Commission the candidates are: Democrat Michele Zommer and Republicans Richard Teardo, Edward Hatfield and Harmon Andrews.
For Inland Wetlands Commission the candidates are: Democrats Jennifer Pitcher and Trish Stewart and Republicans Robert LaFlamme and Carl Hornbecker.
For Regional Board of Education candidates are: Democrat Christopher Rempfer and Republicans Steven Suriani, Heather Dwyer and Sharon Attick.

Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.
Emergency application ballots are available for unforeseen circumstances within six days of the election.
