Southbury Budget Plan Includes Funds For Police Position: Report
The Board of Selectmen recently voted to approve next year's budget request.
SOUTHBURY, CT — The Board of Selectmen this week approved a $22.6 million municipal budget for 2019-20, which increases spending by $360,000 or roughly one percent, the Republican-American reports.
While the board made several reductions, funds were approved to extend the Police Department to 24 officers with a salary of $57,000, the Rep-Am reports. The selectmen indicated they'd like to see a detective added to the force.
