Southbury Budget Referendum Details Released

The local budgets have been adopted and the budget referendum date has been set.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Southbury residents will head to the polls on May 2 to decide whether to approve the town's $69 million proposed municipal and Region 15 school budget for fiscal 2018-19, which will result in a slight tax decrease for many residents, though it's also possible that some residents may see a very slight increase as a result of revaluation, the Republican-American reports.

The tax rate would drop slightly if the proposed budget is approved. Municipal spending is forecast to increase 1.23 percent and Southbury's share of school spending would spike by 1.44 percent, the Rep-Am reports.
