Southbury Committee Makes Recommendation For Ambulance Service Contract: Report
Paramedic coverage has been a hot issue in town recently.

SOUTHBURY, CT — The town's Emergency Medical Services Committee Wednesday unanimously approved a new contract with Campion Ambulance Service to continue providing Southbury with paramedic coverage, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.
Some residents and committee members wanted to switch service to the Western Connecticut Health Network, and also consider moving operations to Southbury, instead of Waterbury.
But in the opinion of Southbury Town Attorney Jeffrey J. Tinley, the WCHN bid to provide the service fell short because it did not include a backup paramedic, according to the publication. The Southbury Board of Selectmen are slated to vote on final approval of the Campion contract Thursday evening.
