Southbury Community Giving Drive A Success

Small town, big love. Sharing the spirit of the season.

Southbury Needy Fund wrapped up their Holiday Giving Drive last week with an entire roomful of festive bags filled to the brim with warm clothes, toys, school supplies, and more. Special thanks go to Southbury Social Services for making sure that no family was left out, to Southbury Police Department for conducting two amazing Toy Drives, to the Heritage Village Women’s Club for their annual Giving Tree, and to the many, many individuals, churches, schools, community organizations, and businesses who sponsored families or donated money. Folks of all ages pitched in with the elf-work too: sorting and bagging the gifts as they came in. Pictured in the photo are Southbury’s Pro Teen Youth Group with their Adult Advisors, making sure that every gift went into the right bag for delivery to the child or family waiting. In the final week before Christmas, Southbury Needy Fund volunteers and community helpers have been making deliveries every day to bring each bag to its home in time for that magic morning. With grateful hearts, we join all of our families counting down these last days to the holiday, and wish peace, love, and joy to all.
