Southbury Election 2015 Results: The Votes are In

A major part of the campaign has centered on the proposed Oxford Power Plant and its impact on Southbury.

UPDATE: Democratic First Selectman Ed Edelson was defeated by his Republican challenger Jeff Manville on Election Night, according to official results from the town.

Edelson received 2,327 votes compared to Manville’s 3,247 votes. Edelson will remain on the board of selectmen though. It was a huge night for Southbury Republicans overall.

The campaign has been hotly contested. Edelson has raised $34,394 versus $16,033 for Manville, the Republican-American reports.

But Manville has questioned the amount of water it would use, the Rep-Am has reported.
