Southbury Election Results 2021: Vote Totals For Winners
Republicans swept all the elected positions Tuesday.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Republican incumbent First Selectman Jeffrey A. Manville won a fourth term Tuesday by garnering 3,449 votes, compared to 2,479 for Democratic challenger John Diehl, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State's office. Winners are in bold.
For the Board of Selectmen race, Republicans also won:
Democrats - Justin Bette; Kim McNeill; and Audrie DeRouen

Republicans - Gregory Kuehn (3,080 votes); Jason A. Buchsbaum (3,389 votes); and Holly Sullivan (3,253 votes). Bette led the Democrats with 2,716 votes.
On the Board of Finance, the three Republicans won the three seats:

Democrats - Robert Buck and Rob Pavlock
Republicans - John Kelly (3,409 votes); John L. Reilly (3,345 votes); and Brian Emerick (3,428 votes). Neither Democrat garnered more than 2,425 votes.
On the Board of Assessment Appeals Republican Gabby Addison (3,199 votes) defeated Democrat Marian Van Egas (2,506 votes).
For the Planning Commission, the winners were:
Democrats - Nancy G. Clark (2,723 votes); Robyn Greenspan (2,802 votes); and Alex Gittines
Republican - Ronald Conti (3,416 votes)
As for the Zoning Commission, the winners were:
Democrats - Wendy Bernard (2,652 votes); Chris Rempfer; and Richard Ashby
Republicans - David Dicks Jr. (3,186 votes) and Gary J. Giroux (3,272 votes)
Republican Jay Hine (3,242 votes) defeated Democrat Barbara Wheeler (2,406 votes) as Alternate on the Zoning Commission.
On the Zoning Board of Appeals, the winners were:
Democrats - Kathy Fracassini (2,587 votes) and Marge E. Mullen
Republicans - David Pittari (3,251 votes) and Sharon Scarlet (3,226 votes)
For the three seats on the Inland Wetlands Commission, the candidates were:
Democrats - Paul Fortier; Robert DeCarli (2,725 votes); and Barbie J. Granton (2,624 votes)
Republican - Daniel Slywka (3,280 votes)
Republican Rae Van Egas (3,089 votes) defeated Democrat Richard Boritz (2,443 votes) for a post on the Pomperaug Valley Water Authority.
The three Republicans won seats on the Regional Board of Education:
Democrats - Tara Beall-Gomes and William Ollayos
Republicans - Tom Marks (3,373 votes); Marion Manzo (3,479 votes); and Heather Rodgers (3,675 votes). Beall-Gomes led the Democrats with 2,371 votes.
