Full Time or Part Time Positions

Finance Director. Provides strategic management of the Town’s municipal finances and to develop, manage, administer, supervise and direct the Finance/Accounting Office. Acts in the capacity of the Town’s Controller and Treasurer to develop and manage the Town’s fiscal activities, including budgeting and accounting principles and practices. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance plus over ten years of increasingly responsible accounting and finance administrative work experience. Municipal finance experience, MUNIS and Master’s Degree or CPA preferred. Full time with benefits. Salary range starts at $82,164 DOE. Click to view job description. Building Facility Maintenance Foreman. Responsible for the safe and efficient operations of town buildings through proper custodial and building maintenance services. Performs managerial oversight and personally participates in the maintenance, repairs and upkeep of assigned Town buildings and property. Part Time - Front Counter Service Clerk for the Senior Center. 20 hours per week. Performs clerical and customer service related duties, including but not limited to answering phone and scheduling and confirming appointments. Salary starts at $15 per hour. Part Time - Secretary at Southbury Public Library. 25 hours per week, Monday thru Friday. Provides business bookkeeping, secretarial and clerical service to Head Librarian and staff including preparing agendas for Library Board, processing all invoices and maintaining records of all various accounts and performing special projects as requested. Knowledge of practices of library services provided in a public library setting. Strong knowledge of computer software related to invoicing and budgets (Excel and Word). Required qualifications – Graduation from High School plus one year of business school or three to five years of related experience. Special courses related to Library Science a plus. Per Diem

Mini-Bus Driver/Utility – Per Diem. Per Diem Bus Drivers to transport elderly and/or disabled Southbury residents to and from appointments and the Senior Center. No prior experience necessary, although must hold State of Connecticut license with appropriate endorsements (minimum “F” endorsement), finger printing and current medical certificate from your physician. May also be used as a utility person to help with various tasks at the Senior Center. $13.00 per hour.
