Southbury Looks To Hire New Economic Development Director

The town is looking to hire for a new economic development director. The deadline to apply is June 14.

Economic Development Director.

Assists and advises the First Selectman and the Economic Development Commission on matters relating to the promotion and development of the economic resources of the Town to improve the tax base, employment and stimulate business activity.

Responsibilities include planning and managing special economic development projects, identifying grant opportunities and funding sources and attending Economic Development Commission meetings. Considerable experience in economic and community development, including administrative responsibility. Commercial real estate experience also taken into consideration. Graduation from four year college or university, preferably with a specialization in economic and community development or equivalent combination of education and experience.
