Southbury Needy Fund is in its 40th year teaming up with Southbury residents, churches, schools, organizations, and businesses to bring new warm winter clothing, books, toys, and holiday necessities to needy families in our community. Come be a part of our giving circle!

We are welcoming:

MONETARY DONATIONS! Checks can be made payable to the Southbury Needy Fund, Inc. and sent to Southbury Needy Fund, PO Box 72, Southbury, CT 06488.

SPONSORS! Each child on our list receives two outfits, a set of pjs, a warm sweater or fleece jacket, a hat and gloves, a set of underwear, and socks, as well as boots or winter coats as needed. SPONSORS MAY SIGN UP TO PROVIDE ONE, OR SOME, OR ALL, OF THE ITEMS ON THE NEEDED LIST FOR THE CHILD OR FAMILY THEY ARE SPONSORING. SINGLE-ITEM DONATIONS! The NON-CLOTHING items most in need are: toys for all ages such as legos, cars and trucks, board games, picture books for young children, chapter books for older children, art and school supplies, sports equipment, sleeping bags for children, sports bags, bed and bath linens, blankets, fleece throws, and donated gift wrap. FOR TOYS, BOOKS, ART, SCHOOL, AND SPORTS EQUIPMENT:
The Southbury Police Department will hold their annual Toy Drive at the TJ Maxx storefront in Southbury Plaza, on Friday November 24, and again on Saturday, December 2. Donors can also bring their gift to the Southbury Police Station at 421 Main St South ANY TIME DAY OR NIGHT between Friday, November 24 and Monday December 11.

The Southbury Needy Fund is a 501(c)3 (non-profit, tax-exempt) organization. In addition to the Holiday Program the Fund operates on a year-round basis helping Southbury residents when there are no other sources available. The Southbury Social Services Director refers requests from families in exigent circumstances for items such as electric, water, or telephone bill payments to prevent shutoff; medical bill, insurance bill, and rental assistance; and also home repairs. In addition, as needed, the Fund covers school-sponsored trips and tuition for Southbury Parks and Recreation Teenscape Camp.
All of our work is done by volunteers, who also pay for any overhead expenses incurred in our operation. ALL of your donation goes to the families in need.
