Southbury Republican Announces First Selectman Bid

The candidate officially entered the race this week.

SOUTHBURY, CT — A two-term GOP member of the Board of Selectmen, Jennifer Naylor has announced this week that she is running for the position of first selectman, the Republican-American reports. The position is currently held by incumbent GOP First Selectman Jeffrey Manville.

On her campaign website, Naylor announced her plans and said, "My service to Southbury these past twelve years has given me frontline experience, and I am qualified and eager to continue serving Southbury as its chief elected official. It’s important that we have a local government that listens and cares and is honest to all taxpayers. As First Selectman, my door will always be open, and I will lead a transparent local government while working collaboratively with fellow Selectmen.”

Naylor and her husband Ed have lived in town for the past 24 years. "She is a working mother of two Region 15 graduates, and she has dedicated her life in Southbury to making the community a better place for you and your families. She is currently the Selectman Pro-Tempore on the Southbury Board of Selectmen and was the Vice-Chair of the Strategic Planning Task Force. She previously served as assistant with chief of staff responsibilities to two former First Selectmen, including acting as the Town’s PIO, webmaster and grant coordinator. Jennifer holds a Bachelors in Business from Adelphi University and is a paralegal with and the Personnel Administrator for Secor, Cassidy & McPartland," according to Naylor's website.
