Southbury Still Considering Edgewood Bath Purchase
The town is trying to determine if a referendum on the proposed $2 million is feasible.
SOUTHBURY, CT — Southbury officials are working to figure out if a referendum on the potential purchase of the Edgewood Bath and Tennis Club is feasible or if the Board of Selectman would have a final decision.
The town is looking to purchase the property for $2 million in order to replace Ballentine Park's pool facility, which would cost $3.7 million to fix, according to the Republican-American. Edgewood was built for $5 million a decade ago.
The town paid $3,000 for an option to purchase the club, but a decision has to be made by July 31. The club is located in Middlebury.
