Southbury Takes a 8% Cut in State Grant Under Latest Malloy Plan

Malloy unveiled his latest budget proposal Monday to try and shore up state finances in advance of the start of the legislative session.

SOUTHBURY, CT - The bad news keeps coming for Connecticut municipalities as the state attempts to claw out from under its budget mess.

Under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's revised, proposed adjustments to the fiscal year 2019 budget previously adopted by the legislature state municipal aid would be cut nearly $100 million - both in the education and non-education side.

For Southbury, it would be a 8 percent cut from the previously approved $4.17 million total - to $3.82 million.
