Southbury Taxes Due, How To Pay
A reminder on how and when to pay your taxes without late penalties.
SOUTHBURY, CT — By now all Southbury taxpayers should have gotten their tax bills for the year. Taxpayers have until Aug. 1 to pay without any late penalties.
Real estate and personal property over $100 can be paid in two installments, one by Aug. 1 and another by the end of January 2020 and car payments are due in one installment.

If the first installment is not paid, or any portion thereof, on or before August 1, 2019, interest will be charged from July 1, 2019 (original date due) at the rate of 1.5% per calendar month (3%) subject to a minimum of $2.00 (sec.12-146 CT state statutes).
Your cancelled check is your receipt. If paying by mail and a receipt is desired, include a stamped, self-addressed envelope along with the appropriate payment stub(s), from the bottom of your bill, with your payment. Please note our processing center will now send a receipt.

Credit card & e-check payments can be made via our online tax system or by telephone (1-866-843-5096). The fee for credit card payments is approximately 2.50% and e-checks are $2.00.
There will be no other bill sent for January 1, 2020
Retention of the bill is necessary.
Keep the top portion of the bill for your records.
Send the appropriate payment stub(s) located at the bottom of the bill with your payment.
You can receive an electronic reminder of your tax bills by registering for e-alert notifications on the homepage of the town’s website www.southbury-ct.org.
Failure to receive a bill does not excuse payment of the tax or the penalty thereof.
The Tax Office, Southbury Town Hall, is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m.to 1:00 p.m., except official holidays, to receive tax payments.

Please note the tax office cannot take cash payments over $50.00
