Southbury Town Pool Future: Officials Want Resident Input

The town may hold a referendum on whether to construct a new pool. Officials want input.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Southbury officials are looking to get more input from residents regarding renovations and updates to the town pool at Ballentine Park.

The Board of Selectmen hired The Center for Research and Public Policy to survey residents. Residents will receive calls from a Rhode Island number with the caller ID "Portable Insights," according to the Board of Selectman.

In addition, town officials will hold an open meeting Dec. 29 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. to present renovation options.

Residents can also submit survey responses directly online.

A final decision about whether to hold a referendum on a new pool will be made around March 15. The referendum would take place May 7 along with town and school budget questions.
