Southbury Woman Faces Embezzlement Charges
State Police make an arrest following an investigation of larceny charges filed by a Woodbury business that a woman had stolen $40,000.
A Southbury woman was charged with embezzling thousands of dollars from a Woodbury business.
Police say Deborah Cooper, 43, a resident of 1098 West Purchase Road, Southbury embezzled approximately $40,000 from Bob Pabst Land Clearing, Inc., a Woodbury business. She was charged by State Police with Larceny 1 on Thursday, July 15.
Cooper had been employed as a book-keeper by several businesses in Woodbury. According to Lt. J. Paul Vance, spokesperson for the Ct State Police, it is not yet clear yet whether or not other businesses may be filing charges.

Cooper was released on a $5,000 bond and will appear for a court date on July 21 at Waterbury Superior Court. She was not available for comment on Friday.
