Southbury's First Selectman Under Fire Over Alleged Comment

SOUTHBURY, CT — Four years ago, it is alleged by Dr. Ruby Corby O’Neill that now First Selectman Jeffrey Manville said of his then opponent Ed Edelson,“he better think twice before he pulls the Jew Card," the Republican-American reports.

Manville told the Rep-Am that he did not make the remark and said it's likely coming up now due to politics and his refusal to endorse O'Neill for a congressional run. Members of the Board of Selectmen plan to hold a special meeting to discuss the issue and what response they may have to the comment Manville is accused of saying.

A special meeting date has not been scheduled as of press time.
