​ Southford Falls State Park Closed To New Visitors Monday

The parking lot is filled to capacity and new visitors aren't being allowed to enter.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Southford Falls State Park in Southbury is closed to new visitors Monday afternoon after the parking lot filled to capacity.

Gov. Ned Lamont signed an executive order that gives park officials the power to close parks to additional visitors in an effort to promote effective social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.

Other nearby state parks that are open as of 3 p.m. Monday include George Waldo, the Larkin State Park Trail and Kettletown State Park. The state has 139 parks and forests.
