State Layoffs Hit Southbury Training School: Report

Several long-time employees received layoff notices this week.

SOUTHBURY, CT - The state's $960 million projected deficit for next year is leading to the elimination of 2,500 state jobs next year including up to 1,800 layoffs before June 30.

And the state's budget mess has now hit home as 25 Southbury Training School employees have been laid off, many of which had been there for decades, reports the Republican-American.

Most of the layoffs impacted therapists including two music therapists who helped staged summer concerts there, the Rep-Am reports.
