State Police Investigated Suspicious Southbury Bus Stop Incident

After talking to neighbors and witnesses, police say nothing criminal occurred.

SOUTHBURY, CT - State Police say they investigated a claim of a suspicious incident involving a complaint that an adult male may have approached an elementary school student at a bus stop in Southbury.

State Police say they concluded nothing criminal occurred.

State Police said the alleged incident occurred at the intersection of River Hill Road and Branch Road on March 2.

The student told police that they may have been approached by a white male parked near the bus stop.

State Police investigated and interviewed multiple witnesses and neighbors, and found the male in question. They determined he was a contractor working in the area and nothing criminal occurred.

The case is closed for now, State Police said.
