Thieves Targeting Yard Tools

It's Fall and the leaves are starting to come down — but thieves aren't making the cleanup any easier for some local landscapers.

Fall cleanup jobs may bit more work for four local landscapers who had equipment stolen from their trucks.

According to reports available at the Southbury Police Department, leaf blowers and hedge trimmers were stolen out of the back of four trucks on Sept. 9 and Sept. 10. Here's some information on each incident:

Theft on Southford Road

A backpack style leaf blower was stolen from the back up a landscaping truck parked at 1450 Southford Road sometime between 10:20 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 9.

Hedge Trimmer Snatched

A gas-powered hedge trimmer was stolen from the back of a work truck while grounds maintance was being done at 10:47 a.m. on Sept. 9.

Leaf Blower Swiped   

A Stilh gas-powered leaf blower was stolen from the side of a trailer parked at 800 Main St. South sometime between 10 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on Sept. 10.

Town Truck Hit, Too  

A Town of Southbury truck had a leaf blower stolen from it while on Main Street South, sometime between 8:30 and 8:55 a.m. on Sept. 10.
